Use HotCRM on your phone or tablet — what works, what doesn't, and field-rep best practices.

Mobile

HotCRM works on phone and tablet through a responsive web app — open your-hotcrm-url in any modern mobile browser and you'll get a layout optimised for the device.

Native iOS / Android apps are on the roadmap.

What works well on mobile

  • 📋 Reading records — accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases, tasks.
  • Quick edits — status, stage, owner, picklist fields.
  • 📞 Tap-to-call / tap-to-email — phone numbers and email addresses are tappable.
  • 📅 Today's tasks & events — your daily plan, optimised for the lock-screen widget.
  • 🤖 AI Copilot chat — voice-to-text works great for drafting on the go.
  • 📸 Attaching photos — snap and upload from the device camera (site visits, business cards).
  • 🗺️ Navigation — addresses on accounts/contacts open in your phone's maps app.
  • 🎤 Voice notes — long-press the activity → record → AI auto-transcribes.

What's clunky on mobile

These work but are easier on desktop:

  • Big list views with many columns (use a phone-optimised view instead).
  • Drag-to-edit pipeline kanban.
  • Building reports or dashboards.
  • Multi-step flows / approvals (works, but tedious).
  • Heavy bulk edits.

Mobile-optimised views

Admins can ship views tagged for mobile. They typically:

  • Show 3–4 columns max.
  • Big tap targets.
  • Status / owner / next action / due date.

Pin one for each object you use on the road ("Today's calls", "My open cases", "Drop-ins this week").

Offline support

HotCRM caches your most-recent records so you can view them offline. Edits made offline are queued and synced when you reconnect. Conflicts are flagged for review.

What does not work offline:

  • Global search.
  • AI Copilot.
  • Reports & dashboards.
  • New records (you can draft them; they sync as new on reconnect).

Push notifications

Allow notifications in your browser or PWA install:

  • New high-priority case assigned to you.
  • Approval awaiting your sign-off.
  • Lead assigned to you.
  • Big-deal win in your team (configurable).
  • @mentions in record comments.

Install as a "PWA"

On iOS Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android Chrome → menu → Install app.

This gives you an icon on your home screen, full-screen mode (no browser chrome), and access to push notifications.

Field-rep playbook

A typical field day:

  1. Morning — open Today's calls view; review the AI Copilot's Customer 360 summary for each.
  2. 🚗 In transit — tap the address to navigate.
  3. 🤝 In the meeting — open the contact; tap Voice note to dictate notes (auto-transcribed onto the activity).
  4. 📸 Snap a photo of the venue / business card → attach to the account.
  5. 📞 After leaving — tap-to-call to confirm next step.
  6. ✅ Mark the visit complete; the next-step task is auto-suggested by the Copilot.

Tips

  • ✅ Install as PWA — it feels like a native app.
  • ✅ Use voice notes — much faster than typing on the go.
  • ✅ Pin 2-3 mobile-optimised views as your home screen.
  • ✅ Don't try to do everything on mobile — leave reporting, dashboards, and admin work for desktop.
  • ✅ Check the lock-screen widget every morning before the first meeting.
